Flensburger Radler Brewery: Flensburger

Type: Fruit Beer

Alcohol: 2.4%

Country: Germany

Ok this one has been lurking in the back of my fridge for a little while now, time to finally try a radler. I have had a few of these mixed beers in Germany before (mostly by mistake). i am not a big fan but I will give this a try. This beer is made using 50% Flensburger pilsner and 50% lemonade. So that gives you an idea of what to expect. It pours a very very clear yellowish color. It has a puffy white head that last about 3 seconds before disappearing almost completely. The smell is very sweet with just a hint of pilsnery grass and hay smell. The taste is indescribably sweet. It is like a spoonful of corn syrup with a few drops of fake lemon juice. The pilsner is almost totally buried beneath the cloying sweetness of this...abomination. I will not bother to go on, just plead in the name of all beer to stop making this. Flensburger makes a very very good pilsner, and to ruin it like this is just sad. I am not even going to rate this...just pour it down the drain.
