Humlemord Autumn Harvest
Type: American Strong Ale
Alcohol: 6.9%
Country: Denmark
Pours a dirty orange color with a giant off white head. Doesn't last long though. The aroma is interesting, it says they use apple syrup in the beer, the apple smell is quite present. Certainly a nice hop aroma as well but with a harsh alcohol not as well. This is a really odd tasting beer. It has that strong, very sweet malt taste if a strong ale, but it is very highly hopped. Magnum, sorachi, and liberty hops all add to the complex taste. Sweet but with a high spicy hopped taste muddled by a strange fruity apple taste. A lot of bitterness from the hops, a lot of sweetness from the malts, but not really a great balance here. There is a pronounced boozy and alcohol harshness in the mouth. I can't say I am really impressed by this beer. Too much thrown together at once with little balance.
