Flensburger Kellerbier

I really like a good kellerbier, one of the few lagers I enjoy. That is why I was pretty happy to see this at the border, a kellerbier from my favorite flip top border brewery, Flensburger. Pours a hazy, I mean super hazy, orangish yellow. The head is huge on this beer, in fact I ended up pouring too fast and had a head boilover. Heavy malt and grassy smell with a hint of hops. The taste is nice and malty with a little sweetness lurking before a nice balanced burst of bitterness in the end. It has a good balance between refreshing and dry and a nice foamy mouthfeel. I would say this is now one of my favorite kellerbiers. I think I will be picking up a whole case of flensburger kellerbier next time I am at the border. Would be a great session lager.
