Pours a clearish carmel color with a thin water head that disappears altogether very quickly. The smell is very very sweet, with over ripened bananas and caramel. I was not expecting the taste...not at all. The normal hefe tastes are there, like banana, but the sweetness is over the top. This is like eating overly sweetened banana pudding. It almost has an artificial banana taste, and this taste overpowers everything. I am guessing from the slightly darker caramel color, as opposed to the more normal yellow hefes, that there is some kind of caramel malt added to this. i am not enjoying this addition and in fact this is next to undrinkable for me. No more reviewing, just stay away from this one. It is a shame because I really like the normal Duckstein beer.
