Coisbo Christmas Ale
Type: Belgian Strong Ale
Alcohol: 7%
Country: Denmark
This beer came in a holiday gift basket. I have seen this brand around lately but have never tried anything. Might as well start with the Christmas beer. Pours a rusty amber color, normal for a belgian ale. Has a big white head that disappears pretty quick. Sweet licorice and fruit nose, also pretty standard, has a tiny hint of spice. The taste is a little sweeter then I expected. Sweet licorice and caramel are offset with some pretty normal Christmas spices. The whole thing finishes with a nice bitterness, but a bit of a strong aftertaste of spice. All in all it is not a bad Christmas beer, I certainly don't want to judge it too harshly as admittedly I am not a fan of these types of beer.
