Union Jack IPA
Type: IPA
Alcohol: 7.5%
Country: USA
Pours a clear bubbly yellow with a nice fluffy one finger white head. Leaves behind a lot of nice lacing as you drink it. Aroma is grass and grapefruit along with a nice sweetness of malt in the background. the taste took me by surprise, much more malt and noble hop taste then I expected. Where I was guessing grapefruit and citrusy hops I got piney and floral with a bready malt backbone and a bracing bitter finish. Seems to be a marriage between the west coast IPA style and an older more traditional English IPA (hence the name?). A well made IPA with a strong bitterness but not exactly what I was expecting.
