I have heard a lot about this IPA. Six packs of this IPA were in all the stores that sold any kind of craft beer when I was in Boston. I didn't grab any there, mostly because I knew it was around here in Denmark, so I could get it. Well it turns out it was one of the beers in a supermarkets "American BBQ" promotion. I picked it up amazingly cheap compared to the specialty shops. Also on a side note, I was afraid the reason these beers were so cheap in a supermarket was because they were old stock from somewhere. Honestly though, these beers have been some of the freshest imports i have ever bought in Denmark. it is amazing!
Pours a really clear light orange color with a big fluffy head that sticks to the glass and leaves nice lacing. Nice hop character in the smell, tropical fruit and grapefruit as well as more then a little malt. This is a really balanced IPA. The hops are amazingly juicy. The taste drips with citrus and tropical fruit. The sweet malt supports the hops with a nice round caramel taste. Can't get over how fresh this beer is. The hops taste bright and new, just awesome. Nice round bitterness, not a hop monster at all, but bitter enough that you know this is an IPA. Mouth feel is crisp and refreshing. Refreshing is exactly the word I would use to sum this beer up. Just such a great classic west coast IPA. I would love it if I could buy this beer in six packs over here.
