When I saw the words smoked beer I had to crab this off the shelf. It says on the bottle that the malt was smoked over beech wood. You can really taste it in the beer. There is a great smokey caramel flavor in this ale. It reminds me of a good BBQ. It just combines the best parts of an ale with the fine smokey flavors of certain whiskeys. I am going to go and clean the store out of this beer tomorrow. Highly recommended
